Urban Landscapes
My drawings of the historic landmarks in Pittsburgh, Chicago and other cities serve as a vibrant bridge between enduring urban grandeur and lost architectural heritage. Using a meticulous process of pencil drafting, fine-point pen definition, and layered watercolor pen, I recreate the intricate masonry and towering silhouettes of both standing icons and long-demolished treasures. This same passion extends to my imaginary cities, where I blend my love for bold, saturated color with architectural traits borrowed from international urban landscapes to create entirely new environments. By researching and "rebuilding" these structures on paper, I aim to honor a storied past while evoking a sense of nostalgia and limitless potential through a world of vivid hue and global inspiration.
